Robert R. Palmieri
1/24/2014

Robert R. Palmieri died peacefully at home in the company of his family. He was 80.

Bob was born and raised in Medford, the son of the late John and Irene (Caruso) Palmieri. He owned and operated Bob’s Gas Station which was a fixture in South Medford for decades. Generations of families relied on Bob for repairs and a helping hand whenever necessary. While parents gassed-up, the kids in the back seat could always count on Bob to whistle and give a hearty hello. Bob was devoted to his family and worked hard to give them all he could. He enjoyed snowmobiling and fun times in North Conway, NH. He was an active supporter of St. Joseph Marching Band in Wakefield and was a devoted member of the North End’s Saint Anthony Society, participating in the annual procession for most of his life. He was a loyal friend to many and always enjoyed the company of his extended family.

The beloved husband of Carol (Bianchino) Palmieri, Bob was a devoted father of Karen Porter of Wakefield and the late Robert J. Palmieri as well as a devoted father-in-law to Jackie Palmieri of Wakefield. He leaves his loving grandchildren: Catherine Porter of Stoneham, Christopher Porter and his fiancé’ Beth Carron, Cory Porter, Bobby and Dan Palmieri all of Wakefield. He was a dear brother to Mary Zero and Mario Palmieri of Medford, Jennie Massaro of California, the late Armando and Remo Palmieri. Bob also leaves many nieces and nephews.
