Rebecca A. (Rhea) Hoey, of Plymouth, died at home surrounded by her loving family on December 23rd at the age of 61. She is survived by her loving husband Bill Hoey of Plymouth, her son Sean Hoey of Plymouth and her daughter Michelle Schneider of Austin, TX. She also leaves her mother, Barbara Wolfe of Georgetown, TX, her father, Jim Rhea of Joplin, MO, her sister Nancy Gallmore of Katy, TX, and brothers Bill Rice of Houston, TX, and Nick Rhea of Joplin, MO. Becky also leaves the sparkle of her eyes, her 4 grandchildren: Alex, Cailyn, and Brooke Schneider, and Thomas Hoey.
Rebecca was born in Salina, KS and has lived in Plymouth since 1977. She was a teacher at Plymouth Community Intermediate School where she taught 6th grade. Rebecca graduated from Bridgewater State College in 1988. This past August, Rebecca was one of the recipients of the Plymouth School District's annual Inspirational Teacher Award.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) on Friday December 27th from 3 to 7 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 28th at St. Bonaventure’s Church at 10 AM followed by burial at Vine Hills Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Hope for Caroline Foundation at HopeforCaroline.org.
