Obituary

Mary Teresa (Conneely) Mullan, a 66 year resident of Charlestown and 21 year resident of Cape Coral, Florida, entered into eternal life suddenly on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was 79 years old.

Mary Teresa was born on May 10, 1934 in Bally Conneely, Connemara, Ireland, a daughter of the late Peter Conneely and Jane (McHugh) Conneely. She grew up in Bally Conneely, Connemara Ireland where she was educated and received her degree in teaching. She worked several years as a Principal and taught school on the island of Inis Turbot, Connemara, Ireland before immigrating to the United States and settling in Charlestown at the age of 26. She was a member of the first class to graduate from Bunker Hill Community College. Mary Teresa worked for 12 years as a Legal Secretary for a local law office in Charlestown. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling to the beach and the Boston Bruins. Her love in life was her family and the quality time she was able to spend with them.

Mary Teresa is the beloved wife of the late George T. Mullan. She is the devoted mother of Elizabeth LaTerz and her husband J. Michael of Charlestown, George G. Mullan of Belmont, Tracy Waterhouse and her husband William of North Reading, Judith Walsh and her husband Norbert of Weymouth and the late Marjorie Castano and her surviving husband Tony of Brockton. She is the loving Nana to Margaret, Thomas and James Walsh, Wesley, Mitchell and Aubreigh Waterhouse, Conneely and Mary Teresa Mullan. She is the beloved sister of Thomas, Joseph, Martin and the late Peter and Michael. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary Teresa's Funeral on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
