Joseph A. Chiarenza a long-time Medford resident died after a brief illness in Celebration, Florida. He was 68.

Born and raised in Boston’s North End, Joe lived in Medford for the past 46 years. He enjoyed a 42 year career with Raytheon Corporation. He began as an electrician and retired as a facilities manager and plant engineer. A member of the St. Joseph Society in Boston’s North End, Joe was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed the company of his family and friends.

The beloved husband of Geraldine (DeLuca), with whom he shared 46 years of marriage, he was a devoted father to Joseph Chiarenza and his wife Louise and Steven Chiarenza all of Medford. He leaves his loving grandchildren: Ariana Marie and Joseph Philip Chiarenza. The cherished son of Concetta “Tina” (Chiarella) Chiarenza of Medford and the late Joseph D. Chiarenza, he was a dear brother to: Maryann Grady and her husband Louis, Loretta Cox and her husband Michael and Anthony Chiarenza and his wife Katherine. Joe also leaves many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday, December 10th at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
