David J. Casey, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, November 18, 2013 at his home in Charlestown after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 57 years old.
David was born in Boston on December 19, 1955, a son of Joyce O. (Albery) Casey and the late John T. Casey. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1973. Dave worked for several years for the City of Boston Parks & Recreation Division. He enjoyed playing golf but his passion was cooking and food, Dave has been a longtime member of Bunker Hill Council # 62, Knights of Columbus.
David is the loving son of Joyce O. (Albery) Casey of Charlestown and the late John T. Casey. He is the devoted brother of Sheila Casey of Holbrook, Peter Casey and his wife Joann of Virginia, Ellen Casey of Charlestown, Joyce Doolin and her husband Leo of Holbrook and Marian Gates and her husband Jerry of Quincy. He is the loving uncle to Karen, Colleen, Jennifer, Christopher, Melissa, Michael and great-uncle to Brielle, Kaelyn and Isabella.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend David's Funeral on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
