O’Shea, Eugene, 97 Passed away at Beth Israel Hospital on November 14. Gene was born and raised in the village of Stradbally, parish of Castlegregory, CO. Kerry, Ireland. He was the husband of the late Nora “Ina” (Gogarty) O’Shea of Castlegregory, & Cahir Ireland. He leaves his sons Eugene and his wife Nengsai and James and his wife Yuni all of Plymouth. Grandfather of Tara, Ina, and Jennifer, great grandfather of Kayla & Elena Ngo. He also leaves a sister in law Joan Champ, Sister of Mercy DeLourdes (Peggy) Gogarty, and Teresa O’Dwyer, and numerous nieces and nephews in Ireland and the USA. Brother of the late John Joe, Michael, and Patrick, Mary O’Connor, Madge Horgan, Hannah Duncan, Kathleen Shea, and Nora Kavanagh.
Eugene was a communicant of St. Mary, Castlegregory, Ireland, St Polycarp, Winter Hill Somerville, and St Bonaventure, Manomet (Plymouth). He was a member of the Carpenters Union 40 for the past 66 years, member of the Irish Pioneer Society for the past 56 years, and a member of St Gabriel Retreat League of Boston. He often said of the U.S.A. “Lads it’s a great country”
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 619 State Road (Rte 3A) Manomet (Plymouth) on Sunday November 17, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St Bonaventure Parish on Monday November 18 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Manomet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Eugene’s memory may be made to St Bonaventure’s Building Fund, P.O. Box 996, Manomet, MA 02345
