Ruth E. (Frost) Upham, 79, of Hudson, died on Tuesday, Oct. 29th at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of 49 years to the late Herbert A. Upham who died in 2005.
Ruth was born in Natick, daughter of the late Edward M. and Mabelle I. (Greenslade) Frost. She was raised in Framingham where she attended local schools. She spent several years residing in Medway and 15 plus years residing in Cumberland and Woonsocket, RI. Ruth has spent the past 3 years in Hudson to be close with her loving family.
Ruth took great pride in the raising of her children and caring for their home. She looked forward to traveling with her husband Herbert, visiting many destinations throughout the country. In her spare time she enjoyed painting and crocheting as hobbies but most of all she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a long time member of the 7th Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by her children, Florence Murphy and her husband William of Holliston, Ruth Ann Upham of Hudson, Teresa Lilly and her husband Mike of Fitchburg, Herbert A. Upham II and his wife Betty of North Smithfield, RI and David W. Upham and his wife Sonja of Smithfield, NC. She is also survived by her two sisters, Rita Trudeau of Woonsocket, RI, Mabelle Buscemi of Melbourne, FL; nine grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service and celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5th at 10:00 a.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Family and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Nov. 5th from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service in the funeral home. Committal services will be held following the service at 12:30 p.m. in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822.
