William “Bill” Donner Gillespie, Jr., 69, of Pinehurst, NC, passed on Sunday September 22, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Gillespie was born February 24, 1944 in Newton, MA, to the late William D. Gillespie, Sr. and Florence (Henninger) Gillespie. Mr. Gillespie graduated from the University of Vermont, and later enlisted as an officer in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Bill lived, loved and had a wonderful life.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Teresa “Tess” Catherine (Van Dyke) Gillespie, a son, John William Gillespie of Pinehurst, a stepson, James of Ann Arbor, MI; a stepdaughter, Jennifer of Grand Rapids, MI; a brother Thomas Gillespie and wife Sara of Williamsburg, VA; a sister, Mary Sue Gillespie of Vero Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Hunter, Catherine, and Olivia, and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be held in the Wildwood Cemetery, 34 Palmer St., Winchester, MA on Monday September 30 at 11AM. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the main cemetery entrance before procession to the gravesite.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his memory to First Health Hospice and Palliative Care at 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
