Obituary

Yvonne Maria (Geniar) Daniels, 85, a former longtime resident of Natick died peacefully at Halifax Health Hospice, after a short illness.

She was the wife of Harold V. Daniels, who died in January, 1977.

Born in Antwerp, Belgium, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Maria (Francken) Geniar.

Yvonne met the “love of her life”, during World War II.  Her husband was a 2nd Lt in the US Army, and was stationed in Antwerp.  She came to the United States as a war bride.  They raised their four daughters in Natick, before her move to New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

One of the memories of the war that made her most proud, was her father, Albert, who worked for the underground during war time.  They hid a Jewish family in their home during the conflict.  As a young teen, she and her sister Simonne were sworn to secrecy.  At young ages they knew of the dangers of being discovered.

Yvonne has lived happily with her daughter, Lori and her husband, Steve in Edgewaater, Florida for the past four years.  She loved the hustle and bustle of their children, grandchildren and their loving pets.

She will be forever remembered for her compassionate heart, her love of family, her caring of people “without a voice”, the many homeless animals she cared for, but was most proud of her daughters and their families.

Yvonne was happiest when she was oil painting, of which, each daughter cherishes her works of art.

Mrs. Daniels is survived by her four daughters and their husbands.  Linda D’Eramo and husband Vinny of Holliston.  Denise Gandolfi and husband, Joe of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Lori Johnson and husband Steve of Edgewater, Florida, Kim Dumas and husband, Rick of Edgewater, Florida.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael and Maria D’Eramo;  Danielle & Greg (Gandolfi) Sandhagen , Daniel and Danielle Caissie, Jennifer & Charlie (Caissie) Guilbault, Melissa Caissie, Nick and Erika Dumas, and four great grandchildren; Rylee, Troy & Ryder Caissie, & Madelyn Guilbault, her sister Simonne Harris, nephew Scott, and his wife Candy and their three children.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday August 27, at 11:30 A.M. in the Chapel of the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common.

Burial will follow in Dell Park Cemetery.

Visiting hours are Monday August 26 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
