Obituary

Janet R. (Perodeau) Crisafulli, 79, of Dunnellon, Florida and formerly of Natick and Cochituate, died peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2013, after a brief illness. She was surrounded by family at the home of her daughter in Medway. Mrs. Crisafulli was the beloved wife of the late Samuel S. Crisafulli, who died in 1980.

Born in Natick and a resident for 50 years, she was the daughter of the late Amedee and Anna (Dooley) Perodeau. She was raised in Cochituate and graduated from Wayland High School in 1951. In 2001, Mrs. Crisafulli realized a long-time wish of moving to Florida. She loved the warm weather and the many wonderful friends she made there.

Mrs. Crisafulli was a pioneer for women in banking. At a time when fewer married women worked outside the home, she began her career as a teller at the Natick Five Cents Savings Bank, which later became Middlesex Savings Bank. Even in times of personal challenge, she was a hardworking and trusted leader. Mrs. Crisafulli was promoted to branch manager of the Natick Mall location, before becoming Assistant Vice President and overseeing the Wayland bureau. She retired in 1991.

Mrs. Crisafulli was a member of the Natick Sons of Italy for many years, serving as Treasurer, on its Scholarship Committee, and volunteering at regular pasta dinners. She was a longtime member of St. Patrick Parish in Natick. In her later years, she enjoyed many laughs with the Red Hat Society.

Mrs. Crisafulli was devoted and loyal to her friends and family, and especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She lovingly supported them in all pursuits, and was a regular presence during their academic, athletic, and personal achievements. She enjoyed cooking, travel, cross stitch, card games, and dominos. Mrs. Crisafulli was a prolific knitter, and delighted in sending humorous care packages.

She is survived by two children and their spouses: daughter Donna C. Malloy and her husband Edward, of Medway; and son Samuel S. Crisafulli, Jr. and his wife Beth, of Natick. Mrs. Crisafulli leaves three siblings: Robert Perodeau and his companion Rita Burke, of Cochituate and Port Charlotte, Florida; Virginia Bellofatto and her husband Al, of Kingston; and Marie Lehman and her husband Bob, of Sagamore Beach. She is also survived by brother-in-law John Crisafulli of Natick, and sisters-in-law Frances Crisafulli of Natick, Rena Crisafulli of Florida, and Dorothy Cella of Framingham. Her grandchildren are: Michael S. Malloy and his wife Jennifer, of Auburn, Maine; Suzanne Thake and her husband John, of Hoo, Kent, England; Samuel S. Crisafulli, III, of Natick; and William A. Crisafulli, of Haverhill. Mrs. Crisafulli also leaves three great-grandchildren: William E. Malloy, Elodie S. Malloy, and Olivia Andreozzi, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved Lhasa Apso, Lucy. Mrs. Crisafulli was also the sister of the late Paul Perodeau.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral on Saturday August 3, at 9:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church at 10:00 A.M.

Visiting hours are Friday August 2, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
