Norma M. (Tibbetts) McGinnis 83, of Natick died Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing Home following a period of declining health.
Born in Waltham she was the daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy (Sanborn) Tibbetts.
She was a graduate of Waltham High School.
Norma was employed at Sears Roebuck and Company in Natick for several years where she met her husband of 34 years, Charles (Les) McGinnis who died in 2009.
Upon her retirement from Sears she and Les relocated to Middlebury, Vermont where they owned and operated the Greystone Motel for 15 years. Here they had many years of fond memories shared with their family and friends. She loved sewing, cross-stitching and knitting. She also resided in West Palm Beach, Florida for many years during the winter months.
Norma leaves behind four daughters, Eileen Sims of Sewanee, TN, Sharon Reilly of Natick, Lynne Delvecchio of Medway, Corinne Zaniboni of San Diego, CA, one stepson Jay McGinnis of Danvers, a stepdaughter Cynthia McGinnis of Somerville, one sister Jane Armstrong of Jupiter, FL, one brother Richard Tibbetts of Perry, GA, 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Norma was formerly married to the late John T. Sullivan from Newton, MA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday, July 30, at 12:30 P.M. in the Chapel of the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common.
Visitation on Tuesday morning beginning at 11:00 A.M. prior to the service.
