Obituary

James M. Smith of Natick passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 at the Wingate of Sudbury Nursing Home. He was 77 years old.

Born on November 6, 1935, he was the son of the late Hugh & Marguerite (Maroney) Smith. Jim was raised in Island Pond, Vermont and loved spending time there with family and friends.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served our country proudly during the Korean War. Jim was a Natick resident for many years, a member of St. Patrick’s Church of Natick and he worked in the shipping and receiving department of Clix manufacturing of Natick for several years.

He enjoyed all sports, walking, his family and visits to Island Pond, Vermont with his brother Bill. Jim was the loving brother of William M. Smith & his wife Nina of Hudson, the late Alton Smith & his late wife Theresa, the late Thomas Smith, the late Ann Marie Smith, the late Robert Smith & his wife Ruth of St. Johnsbury, VT & the late Elinor Nolin & her husband Charles, also of St. Johnsbury, VT. He was the companion of forty years to the late Dorothy Winner. Caring uncle of the late Jason Smith and he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jim’s funeral will be held from John Everett & Sons, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Saturday, July 20th at 9:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Patrick Church, 44 E. Central St. Natick at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00-7:00PM. Interment is private.
