Germain J. Dufresne 96, died Monday at St. Antoine Residence. He was the husband of the late Therese (Bergeron) Dufresne. Born in St. Phillip, P Q Canada, he was a son of the late Joseph and Marie-Anne (Frechette) Dufresne. Mr. Dufresne was a textile worker for the Branch River Woolen Company for twenty seven years before retiring in 1972. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was a former member of the Parkview Club.
Mr. Dufresne is survived by a son Gerald Dufresne of Philadelphia, PA, a daughter Lucille Blanchette of Woonsocket, six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late George Dufresne and was predeceased by seven siblings.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Charles Church, North Main St. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-7 PM.
