Obituary

Milton Lewis Barnes, 78, of Enigma died Sunday, August 26, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Edgar Rowe will officiate with burial to follow in Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. His grandsons, Hunter Hancock, Hayes Hancock, Curry Flowers, Mitchell Watson, Josh Watson, Taylor Barnes and Javon Manning will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Barnes was born on March 6, 1934 in Enigma and was the son of Johnny Barnes and Clara Bryant Barnes, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, J. C. Barnes; and one sister, Diane Barnes. He was a farmer, a Korean War veteran and an avid fisherman and hunter.

Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Lucy Barnes of Enigma; his nine children and their spouses, Junior and Karen Barnes of Enigma, Timmy Watson of Bonifay, Florida, David and Rhonda Watson of Enigma, Ricky Barnes of Nashville, Joan and Jim Gamble of Ocala, Florida, Sarah and Tom Hancock of Nashville, Beth and Steve Bullington of Nashville, Teresa Barnes of Enigma and Melissa Barnes of Louisiana; his brothers and sisters, Betty Barfield, Cecil Barnes, Alice Jernigan, Larky Barnes and Mae Purvis; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one four-legged child, Millie.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Tiftarea, P. O. Box 747, Tifton, GA 31793.
