Clara Berry Dobbins, age 90, of Marietta, GA died after a short bout with cancer. Mrs. Dobbins was born April 10, 1921 in Fulton County Georgia, died on Thursday, February 2, 2012. She had made her home in Coffee County for the past 10 years. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, where her son, (Dr. John Dobbins) is pastor. Mrs. Dobbins was the daughter of the late Emmett and Leona Berry.
Her husband, William Paul Dobbins proceeded her in death in 1999, after 54 years of marriage.
Mrs. Dobbins is survived by two sons: Dr. John (Doris) Dobbins, and Mike (Regina) Dobbins, both of Douglas, GA.; One sister:, Faye Stamey, of Marietta, GA.; One brother, Ford Berry, of Mableton, GA.; Four grandsons Kent Dobbins, of Jacksonville, Fl. Kolby Dobbins, of Douglas, GA., Gregory Dobbins, of Dahlonega, GA., Errol Dobbins, of Douglas, GA. One granddaughter, Saraya Dobbins, of Douglas, GA.,Three great- granddaughters.
Family receive friends Friday, February 3, 2012 from 6-9 pm at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 11 :00 a.m. at Eastside Baptist Church with Dr. John Dobbins officiating. Music was furnished for the service by Henry Link “Beulah Land” and Church Choir “Amazing Grace”. Randy Braswell as pianist. Interment followed at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Marietta,GA 1:00 PM, Sunday, February 5, 2012. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
