Martha Faye Young Dorminy, 48, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 18, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. J.W. Taylor and Rev. Terry Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dorminy was born August 12, 1963 in Irwin County to Bessie Cooley Young of Fitzgerald and the late Willis Daniel Young. She lived in Ben Hill County for the past ten years and was a former resident of Ocilla and Tifton. Mrs. Dorminy was a homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed picking up pecans. She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Lonnie Dorminy of Fitzgerald; daughters, Miranda Young and Michael Smith and Ashley Stanford of Fitzgerald; daughter-in-law, Kaitlin Stanford of Fitzgerald; stepson, Derek (Jessica) Harper of Turner County; grandchildren, Kevin Smith, Lexie, Logan and Levi; siblings, Shirley (Gene) Busbin and Donald (Diane) Young of Fitzgerald, Brenda (Donald) Hammock of Shellman, Wesley (Chris) Young of Las Vegas, NV, Tommy (Ann) Young and Bonnie McDuffie of Fitzgerald, Johnny (Ronna) Young of Ocilla and Sandy (Charles) McCarty of Sylvester as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Young and a stepson, Brian Harper.
