Obituary

Michael Joseph MacSweeney, a resident of Everett and formerly of Somerville, died at the Kaplan Family Hospice house in Danvers on Wednesday morning, May 4, 2011. He was 55 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on January 13, 1956, he was the beloved son of Marie (O’Leary) MacSweeney and the late Mortimer MacSweeney. Michael was employed for many years as a machinist at the Polaroid company in Waltham.
Besides his beloved mother, Marie, he will be sorely missed by his loving companion; Annette Devino, siblings; Deborah Sullivan of Medford, James and his wife Judith MacSweeney of Canton, Robert and his wife Pamela MacSweeney of Wilmington, Laura and her husband William McDonough and Mark MacSweeney of Medford, many several nieces, nephews and Annette’s son and daughter, Fred and Laurie. Michael was also the brother-in-law of the late John Sullivan.
His funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Saturday, May 7, 2011, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Clement Church, 70 Warner Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held on Friday, May 6, 2011, from 5 to 8 PM. Burial was privately held.
