John W. Medders, age 69, of Douglas, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2011 following an extended illness. Mr. Medders was born on December 4, 1941 to the late Silas W. And Myrtice A. Griner Medders. He was a self employed mechanic and he was a member of the Pearson Church of God of Prophecy. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pearson Church of God of Prophecy with burial following in the Rocky Pond Church Cemetery. Survivors include: sisters: Brenda Carver, Ambrose, Ga; Linda Hall, Fitzgerald, GA; brother: David Medders, Douglas, GA; special friends: George Johnson, Fitzgerald, GA Cecil Grantham, Broxton, GA & K. D, Fitzgerald, GA; several nieces and nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Sims Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m .to 9:00 p.m. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
