Obituary

Nina Bush Tucker, 78, of Chula died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Eureka Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Rabon Lord and Elder Jamey Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Tucker was born April 29, 1932 in Lake Worth, Florida to the late George Irvin and Frances Ann Hicks Bush. She was a 1949 graduate of Crisp County High School and received her teaching certificate from Georgia Southwestern. Mrs. Tucker was united in marriage to Miller Tucker on March 21, 1952 and was baptized into the Primitive Baptist Faith. She was a homemaker and taught 2nd grade at Irwinville Elementary School. All who knew her will miss her sweet spirit and kind and gentle ways. Mrs. Tucker was a former resident of Fitzgerald and had lived in Irwin County for the past sixty years. She was a member of Eureka Primitive Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years: Miller B. Tucker of Chula; children: Jean (David) Howell. Wayne Tucker of Chula, Tina (Gary) Batten of TyTy, Nancy Tucker and Glenn (Elaine) Tucker of Chula; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers: G. Irvin (Helen) Bush, IV of Athens, William “Bill” (Barbara) Bush of St. Petersburg, FL, Sanders (Cathy) Bush of Tampa, FL and Mike (Brenda) Bush of Richmond Hill; sisters: Jane Jackson of Atlanta, Nita (Wayne) Hobbs of Vienna and Sherry (Bob) Atkins of Leesburg as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
