Obituary

John Michael Flynn, 86, passed away at the Winchester Hospital on October 7th, 2010.Beloved son of the late Margaret (Murphy) and Thomas Flynn, dear brother of the late Francis “Buddy", William, Helen, Edward and Thomas Flynn. Devoted and adoring husband of Bernadette (White) (Reid) Flynn, the loving step-father of Luanne Reid Lombardo of Sunapee, NH, Brian Reid and Charlene Post of Huntersville, NC, Charles Reid and his wife Marie “Dolly” of Medford and the late R. Douglas Reid. Devoted and loving grandfather of Jason Reid, Joseph Lombardo, Patricia Ann Lombardo and Christina Lombardo of Sunapee, NH, Kyle “Josh” Reid of Salem, NH and Lindsey and Alexandra Reid of Medford. Loving brother-in-law of Mrs. Jacqueline Flynn of Winchendon and adoring uncle of Karen and Tom Mattus of Ashburnham and Nancy and David Romanofsky of Winchendon. Joh was a member of the award winning Lt. Norman Prince Drum and Bugle Corps from 1948 to 1952. He was also a member of the Princemen Chorus where he served as president in 1988 and 1999. He was also a long standing member at the Irish American Association in Malden where he served as president in 1968 & 1969. For many years, John worked as a Teamster for Union Local 25. Upon retirement, he went to work for the Little Brown Publishing Company from 1988 to 1999 and then moved on to become employed at Grava Chrysler Jeep in Medford. He worked at a shuttle driver for over 10 years and retired at the age of 80. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Tuesday October 12th at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday October 11th from 4-8 PM.
