Ian C. Summerhayes age 57 of Sharon passed away July 20th at home. Born and raised in London, England, he graduated from University of South Hampton in England. He was the Executive Director of the Cell and Molecular Biology Laboratory at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington for the last 12 years and he previously had worked as a Research Scientist for the Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He has been a resident of Sharon since 1986. Beloved husband of M. Mary (Trayers). Father of Kelly, Benjamin, & Alexander all of Sharon. Brother of Jane Cottrel & Mary White both of England & the late Sally Nowland. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Sunday 4-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the United Church of Christ 1541 Washington St. Canton Monday morning at 10. Burial private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Dr. Summerhaye’s Research Lab- the Cell and Molecular Biology Lab, Attn Bonney Myles, 41 Mall Rd Burlington, MA 01805 or to the Sophia Gordon Cancer Center 41 Mall Rd Burlington, MA 01805.
