Robert K. Kercher of New York formerly of Stoneham passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. He was 85 years of age.
Born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Robert was the son of the late Dorothy (Leham) Kercher and James D. Kercher. Mr. Kercher lived in Stoneham most of his adult life before moving seven years ago to New York where he lived with his daughter Peggy.
During World War II, Robert proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Navy. He liked to read books about the World Wars. He worked at General Dynamics in Quincy. He also worked as a manager of a Cleaning Company. Robert enjoyed making model boats and he was also a collector of Betty Boop.
Robert was the devoted father of Peg Kercher and her husband James Lane of Catskill, NY, Altona Kercher of Derry, NH and the late William Kercher. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer Thompson of Derry, NH.
A Funeral Service celebrating Robert’s Life was held at the First Congregational Church in Stoneham on Tuesday, July 6th, 2010.
