Obituary

Worcester - Clarence B. "Jim" Parker, Jr., formerly of West Boylston, died Sunday, June 13, 2010, in Holy Trinity Nursing Home. He was 85. His wife, Shirley H. (Johnsen) Parker, died in 1979. He leaves a daughter, Donna E. Gosselin, and her husband Michael of Worcester; a son, Douglas G. Parker of Prineville, Oregon; four nieces, Joan B. Parker of Auburn, Linda J. Rocheford of Worcester, Ann L. Odgren of Boyertown, PA, and Jayne B. Parker of Worcester; two grandnieces; and three grandnephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Clifford A. Parker and grandson, Christopher Gosselin.

Clarence was born in Spencer, son of Florence E. (Lindberg) and Clarence B. Parker, Sr. He was a graduate of Auburn High School. He was a WWII Army veteran, having served in the Army Medical Corps. Jim was a Customer Service Specialist in the Industrial Ceramics Division at Norton Company for more than 40 years. He enjoyed bird-watching and participating in the Mt. Wachusett Hawk Watch as well as visiting covered bridges in the Northeast.

Funeral services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Wednesday, June 16. A calling hour will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
