Harold E. Fyler

Mr. Harold E. Fyler, age 85, a life long Medford resident died on Thursday at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Winifred (Bartlett) Fyler. Mr. Fyler was born in Medford and is a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1942. He was a proud civilian machinist and worked at the Boston Naval Shipyard in Charlestown. He retired in 1979. Mr. Fyler was a resident of the Saltonstall Building of the Medford Elderly Housing for over 20 years. Still an active man, he enjoyed playing Bingo and was a formidable opponent in a game of whist. In earlier years he was an avid bowler, participating in several bowling leagues. As a sports fan, he loved to spend quality time watching televised sporting events with his son. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by a son James Fyler of Medford, three daughters: Donna DeMeo and her husband Nick of NH, Christine Foley and her husband Jack of Medford, Cheryl Bennett and her husband Tony of NH. Grandfather of Michael & Daniel DeMeo, Nicole Donoghue, Matthew & Jacquelyn Moulton and Alexandra Bennett. Great Grandfather of Christopher, Miranda, Timothy, Jillian, Lacy, Gianna, Sean, Brenna and Clair. Dear brother of the late Ruth Trask and Marion Fyler.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main Street MEDFORD on Wednesday at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm. Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
