Tony Dell Garren, 59, of Ty Ty died Monday, March 29, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Joseph Crumley will officiate with burial to follow in Ty Ty Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Garren was born on December 15, 1950 in Chula and was the son of James Thomas Garren and Lucy Mae Walker Garren, both deceased. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Carpenter Road Church of God.
Mr. Garren is survived by his wife, Judy Harp Garren of Ty Ty; one son, James Franklin Garren of Tifton; three daughters, Dena Garren of Jacksonville, Florida; Lilly Garren of Tifton and Carolyn “Dolly” Bowden of Sycamore; six brothers, Eugene Garren of Nashville, Charles Garren, Thomas Garren, John Garren, Russell Garren and Frank Garren, all of Tifton; one sister, Carolyn Faulkner of Tifton; eleven grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
