Obituary

Sarah Elizabeth Pagnozzi of Arrow Head Trail died Saturday at her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Onofrio “Tony” Pagnozzi. They were married for 56 years.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Ermond E. and Margaret (Cardell) Garceau of Johnston. She lived in Smithfield for 53 years and spent winters in Port Charlotte, Florida and summers in Narragansett.

Mrs. Pagnozzi was co-owner of Pagnozzi Plumbing and bookkeeper until her retirement. She also worked for the Town of Smithfield Voter Registration for 25 years and had been a clerk and a supervisor at the voting polls. She loved reading, the beach and spending time with her family.

Besides her husband she leaves her five children, Michael Pagnozzi and his wife, Dianna Pagnozzi of Smithfield, Gary Pagnozzi, of Smithfield, Lori Bennett and her husband, Michael Bennett of Charlestown, Kerri Courtemanche and her husband, Henry Courtemanche, III of Smithfield and Jeffrey Pagnozzi and his wife, Laura Pagnozzi of Scituate; six grandchildren, Kristen Gabriele of North Providence, Michelle Costa, Mario and Joseph Pagnozzi all of Johnston and Abigail and Sydney Pagnozzi of Scituate; two brothers, Ermond Garceau Jr. and his wife, Anna of North Providence and Joseph Garceau and his wife, Carol of Smithfield.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30AM from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Odyssey VistaCare Hospice Foundation, 717 N. Harwood Suite 1500, Dallas, TX 75201.
