Obituary

Nancy Gill DePaula, 60, died February 16th, 2010 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Born in Dorchester, MA, May 11, 1949 to Eleanor Kelly and the late Daniel Gill, she was currently living in Derry, NH.
She was a 1967 graduate of Andover High School and in 1992 graduated from Hesser College Summa Cum Laude where she was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Upon graduation, she worked as a paralegal for Attorney Paul Bennett in Manchester. In 1996, Nancy became the President and co-owner of the Brother’s Corner Variety in Derry along with her devoted husband and soul-mate of 40 years, Stephen J. DePaula. At the store, Nancy was affectionately known as “Mom” to her loyal customers and she always lived up to the slogan that she and her husband made to improve the area, “A store with family values”.
If not at the store, her passion in life was spending time with her family. Her two cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Emily DePaula were her pride and joy; and the apples of her eyes kept her busy. She enjoyed playing board games with them, swimming, boating, ATV-ing, teaching them to cook, helping with their homework, taking them to Fired Up ceramics in Manchester, and especially attending Christopher’s snowboarding events and going to horseback riding events with Emily.
Besides her mother, husband and grandchildren, Nancy leaves her loving children, Stephen J. DePaula Jr. of Derry and Sean DePaula and his wife Kimberly of Mentor, OH. She also leaves her siblings, Patricia Scaturro and her husband Nicholas Sr. of Wakefield, MA, Daniel Gill Jr. and his wife Paula and Michael Gill and his wife Rosemary, all of South Dartmouth, MA, nieces and nephews, Julianne Almeida and her husband Marc and their children Kyle and Ashleigh, Rebecca and Amanda Gill, Tommy and Sarah Gill, Nicholas Scaturro and his wife Sasha and their son Nicholas III and Anthony Scaturro and his wife Kirstin. Nancy touched many lives and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
