Ruth (Dallon) Sundell, 88, died on Monday February 1, 2010 at Hannah Duston Healthcare, Haverhill. Ruth was born on October 25, 1921 in Salmon River, New Brunswick and came to The US when she was a baby. She became a US citizen when she was a young adult. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School and was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church. Ruth married Verne Sundell on Feb 15, 1945 and lived in Banana River, FL for a short period of time as well as Jamestown, NY before moving back to Lawrence., MA. She raised her children then worked for Arlington Trust Co. back in the 70's and IT&T on Broadway in Lawrence for a number of years. She left work and moved to Methuen to take care of her mother for 20 years then her husband prior to his passing. She moved to Haverhill in 2001 and became a resident of Phoenix Row in 2005 where she lived until moving to Haverhill Crossing in 2008 and then to Hannah Duston in 2009. Ruth enjoyed all types of crafts, embroidering and stitching.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Dick) Sundell of Bradford and her daughter, Lynne Sundell-Dube and "Second son" Ed Dube, Jr of Haverhill as well as her sister, Lila Chateauneuf of Franklin, NH and brothers Robert Dallon and wife Doris of Bristol, CT and Arthur Dallon and wife Arlene of Lawrence. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews and several adopted grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 54 years, Verne Sundell and her brother, Martin Dallon and her second daughter, Linda (Rheaume) Sundell.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday February 3, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will be on Thursday February 4 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Allegiance Hospice, 67 Middle St., Lowell, Ma.
