John Rogers Cox, 57, beloved husband of Brenda Cox, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010. Born in Louisville, he was the son of Shirley Cox and the late John D. Cox. He was employed with Aramark Uniform Co. and was a member of the Fairdale Masonic Lodge No. 942. He was preceded in death by his father, John; and a brother, Douglas Cox. He is survived by his wife, the former Brenda K. Marcum; his mother, Shirley Cox; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Sharon V. Marcum; a brother, Tim Cook; sisters-in-law, Sherri Marcum, Gina Hawthorne (Darren) and Karen Slatteree; nieces, Amber Durbin (Nick) and Kelsey Wood; nephews, Darren Hawthorne II and Jack Cook; and his buddy, Puddles. Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be 3-8 pm Monday and from 9 am Tuesday to the time of service.
