Ralph H. Chick. Jr., 86, of Saugus, MA died on Sunday January 10, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at The Nevins Nursing Centre, Methuen. Ralph was born and raised in Woodman, NH and was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Rochester, NH and was a graduate of Wentworth Technical School, Boston and received his master plumbers license. He served with The US Army during WW II and for many years, he owned and operated Ralph H. Chick Plumbing and Heating Co. of Saugus where he was loved and trusted immensely by his loyal customers. He attended East Saugus United Methodist Church and was a member of William Sutton Lodge, AF & AM of Saugus. Ralph loved to spend time with his family at their summer home on Balch Lake in Wakefield, NH.
Ralph was the devoted, loving and compassionate husband of 57 years of Barbara E. (Taylor) Chick of Saugus and leaves his daughters, Karen E. and her husband, David Rousseau of Haverhill, MA and Cynthia C. and her husband, Michael Causbie of Methuen. He leaves his grandchildren, Laura and her husband, Jonathan Boudmer of Factoryville, PA, Amy Rousseau of Haverhill, Hanson Causbie of Methuen and Peter Rousseau of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Barbara (Chick) Beckwith.
Friends may call on Tuesday January 12, 2010 from 1 to 2 pm at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Woodman Cemetery, E. Wakefield, NH.
