Obituary

LEICESTER: Helen B. (Donohue) Daly,76, of 66 Locust St. in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, died Sunday, April 20 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of Patrick J. Daly who died in 1982. She leaves three sons Patrick S. Daly of Belchertown, John M. Daly and Daniel J. Daly both of Cherry Valley, two daughters Helen M. Daly of Cherry Valley, and Rosemary A. LeFrancois and her husband Joseph of Worcester, a sister Kathleen T. and her husband James F. Shugrue of Worcester, ten grandchildren Thomas C., Daniel P., Robert J. and Joseph D. Daly, Patrick M. Daly and his wife Denise, Christopher Daly and his fiancee Laurie Stafinski, Michael P., Elizabeth J. and Kathleenrose J. LaRose and Joshua Wadden, three great grand children Patrick T., Ryann E. and Thomas C. Daly, several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son Thomas C. Daly in 1991, two daughters Kathleen R. Daly in 2005 and Johannah M. Wadden and her husband Frederick both in 2004, brothers Sylvester, Thomas and Patrick Donohue, and sisters Mary Bisceglia and Margaret Roy, a daughter in law Catherine G. Daly in 2007.
Mrs. Daly was a Tax Auditor for the Mass. Dept.of Revenue for 20 years before retiring in 1999. She was Vice President of the Local R1-207 National Association of Government Employees based in Quincy for over 10 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Worcester and a 45 year member of ALANON.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Sylvester and Catherine (Brosnihan) Donohue. She graduated from Commerce High, Leicester Junior College, Nichols College in Dudley and later earned her Master's Degree from Anna Maria College in Paxton at the age of 51.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 24 from the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 759 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Wednesday, April 23 from 4 to 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to V.N.A. Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, 01608
