Vincent A. “Jim” Bucci, of Saugus, formerly of Stoneham, died Saturday morning at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 71.

Raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Domenico and the late Anna Maria (Funaro) Bucci. After High School, Jim served in the Air Force during the Korean War. After his military service, he joined his father in their family knife sharpening business business, D. A. Bucci and Sons. He operated the business in Stoneham for over 30 years, providing sharpening services and restaurant supplies. The business is now operated by his son Paul. Jim was a member of the Vittorio Rocci Post in Beverly and the Wenham Country Club, where he enjoyed golfing. Above all else he was a dedicated family man who enjoyed the company of his family and friends.

He was the beloved husband and friend of Mary E. (Bonney) Bucci. He was a loving father to Lawrence J. Bucci and his wife Pamela of Westford, Paul V. Bucci and his wife Amy of Nashua, Mary D. Bucci of Boston, Lisa M. Carrozza and her husband Jim of Malden, Michael R. Coppola and his wife Bonnie Volpe-Coppola of Uxbridge, Robert A. Coppola and his wife Fatima of Melrose. He was an adored “Papa” to Michael, Lauren, Christopher, Laura, Mary, Michael, Jr., Anthony, Alyssa, Brady, and Ryan. He was a dear brother to Lucy March, Phyllis Scimemi, Anthony Bucci, Rose Antonuccio and the late Mario Bucci.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family, Tuesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
