Obituary

Mrs. Georgia Mae Kyle-Winton, daughter of the late Mr. Geneva Kyle Sr. and Mrs. Jimmie Rodgers Kyle, was born in Talucah, (Morgan County) Alabama on August 23, 1924. Georgia was preceded in death by her brother, Mr. Geneva Kyle, Jr. She departed this life on December 2, 2007. As a young lady, Georgia Mae was a very industrial person and always tried to rise above her situation. She was a very outgoing person and most people enjoyed being in her presence.

While a very young lady, she became apart of a singing group formed in Taluch, AL with her cousins and they sang at different churches. She enjoyed church life. She was connected to the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, and in later years, when she moved from the area she joined the Church of God in Christ in Lacey’s Springs, AL.

She was married to the late Mr. William Edgar Winton Sr. and eight children were added to this union, one of which preceded her in death, Robert Earl Clark.

Georgia volunteered in many capacities. As a voter registrar, voting poll worker, food share program, senior center, she was a missionary and earned her missionary license and was a Sunday School teacher. A member of OES of Decatur District Church. She was a dedicated member of the Eastern Star.

Georgia was employed by Automatic Electric/GTE for over 20 years. She was a committed person in everything she did. Her skill at sewing and other crafts kept her busy along with her bible study and prayer life.

Georgia leaves to continue celebrating her life eight (8) children: two (2) daughters: Ms. Maggie Winton and Ms. Virginia Winton; six (6) sons: Curtis Winton (Denise) of Knoxville, TN, William E. Winton Jr. (a special friend of the family, Denise), Calvin Winton, Geneva Winton (Tami), and William Henry Winton (Rebecca), all of Huntsville, AL; twenty-eight (28) grandchildren, thirty-four (34) great grandchildren, four (4) great great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Lula Mae Turner of Huntsville, AL and Mrs. Ella Mae Middleton of Chattanooga, TN; a brother-in-law, Curtis Middleton of Huntsville, AL; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Georgia Mae Kyle Winton will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 8, 2007 from the Crutchers Temple Church of God in Christ (Parks Chapel Road - Lacey's Spring, Alabama) with Elder James Strong Officiating. Interment will be in Draper Cemetery. The remains of Mrs. Winton will be in the church one hour prior to funeral time. The Family will receive friends on Friday, December 7, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
