Lillie Marie Merrimon was born to the late Jeff and Lucille Thompson on June 2, 1945 in Madison County, Alabama. She entered her rest on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at her home. She was preceded in death by her son, Jack Lanier.
She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and united with the St. Ruth Primitive Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend C. C. Nance. She later united with the St. Bethel Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Harvey Thompson, where she served faithfully until her health begin to fail/
Lillie Marie Merrimon leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Johnny Merrimon; eight devoted and loving children: Ann Cosby, Mattie Lanier, Johnnie Mae Merrimon, Share Merrimon, Marvin Lanier, Bruce Merrimon (Marchel), and Issac Merrimon (Misty), all of Huntsville, Alabama; five sisters: Alice Stone, Thelma Thompson, Lucy Thompson, Lula Thompson, and Joyce Thompson, all of Huntsville, Alabama; four brothers: Archie Thompson (Addie), Reverend Harvey Thompson (Mozelle), Otha Thompson (Lillie), and Jeff Thompson Jr. (Linda); fifteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren, five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Merrimon will be held Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Flint River Primitive Baptist Church, Elder Ross L. Payton, officiating. Interment will follow in the Saint Ruth Cemetery. Mrs. Merrimon will be available for viewing at the church one hour prior to funeral time.
