New Bedford – John Cory, aged 85 years, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 06, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Leonora (Almeida) Cory of N. Dartmouth, father of Sheila Costa of Dartmouth, grandfather of Gregory Costa of Dartmouth and Robin Costa of New Bedford and great grandfather of Dale and Jillian Sylvia. Mr. Cory is also survived by a brother Alan Cory of Acushnet and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Katherine McGuire and Thomas Cory.
Mr. Cory was the son of the late John Cory and Anna (Pulaska) Cory. He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Cory worked at Cornell Dubilier as an electronics technician and later as a supervisor at Frionor. Mr. Cory was a WWII, U.S. Army Veteran.
Mr. Cory’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 11 A.M. with Religious Services beginning at noon. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday evening from 4 - 7 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Relatives and friends are invited.
