Obituary

Mildred J. (Kelly) Carberg, 100 of Medway died March 23 in the Medway Country Manor. She was the wife of the late Warren C. Carberg who died in 1978.
Born in Corning, New York on February 13, 1907, the daughter of the late Luman and Alice (Leary) Kelly, Mrs. Carberg was raised in Corning and Baltimore and had lived in Medway since 1940.
She had been a telephone operator until her marriage.
During the Depression and World War II she raised and canned food so her family could be healthy.
She enjoyed crocheting and caring for her children.
She is survived by her sons, Warren Carberg of Concord, John Carberg of Venice, Florida and William Carberg of Saratoga Springs, New York and her daughter, Elizabeth Choate of Portland Maine. She was the mother of the late Faith Blethen.
She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 27 in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street in Medway at 11:00a.m.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 5-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Warren C. and Mildred J. Carberg Scholarship Fund c/o Medway High School, 88 Summer St., Medway, MA 02053.
