Marshall O. Santy Sr.

Mr. Marshall O. Santy Sr., 89, of Berlin, NH passed away on Sunday morning Dec. 17, 2006 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin after a sudden illness. He was born in Littleton, NH on Aug. 12, 1917 the son of Walter M. and Ethel (Howe) Santy and had lived most of his life in Berlin. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Santy was employed by the US Post Office in Berlin. He retired in 1977 as Assistant Post Master. He was a US Army Veteran of WW2 and was a member of the Ryan-Scammon Post 36 American Legion and a member of the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW. Mr. Santy was also a member of the National Retired Federal Employees and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Members of the family include his son Marshall O. Santy Jr. of Gorham; three daughters Martha Martin of Greenwood, ME, Linda Lincoln of Norwood, MA and Helene Rafferty of Portsmouth, NH; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor (Gill) Santy in 2001 and by a granddaughter Meaghan Louise Santy in 1996.

SERVICES: A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday January 14, 2007 at 2 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the Lary Cemetery in Gorham. Anyone who wishes may make a donation to the D.A.V. Transportation Division, P.O. Box 828, White River Jct., VT 05001 or to the Meaghan L. Santy Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Denise Vallee, Gorham Town Hall, 20 Park Street, Gorham, NH 03581 in his memory.
