Lee Thompson was born on July 14th, 1930 at St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota to father Andrew Sirotiak & mother Susan Stanko, who met and married in the village of Vajatz in the European nation state of Slovakia.
After Lee was born they moved to Donald, Wisconsin where they purchased a farm and raised their 10 children: 5 boys and 5 girls. Four of the boys sadly however passed before the age of four. Having been born to a time in our history full of challenge and turmoil, Lee was forced to grow faster and more persistent then her age should naturally allow; this and her faith in the Almighty gave her a fortitude of the soul that was never found wanting.
Those who knew Lee would always remember her energy and enthusiasm in school, which she would keep throughout her education, eventually graduating from Donald High School amongst her friends and peers. She would continue her education by moving back to the city of her birth, Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she would attend secretary school and begin her career, refusing to retire until 9 months before her passing.
All who knew her would remember the values she held, her work ethic, and her consistency in the professional world. She believed that work was the reason she retained her youthful energy throughout her life. Lee constantly broke the boundaries in which society had tried to keep her limited to, advancing past her qualifications educationally to become a loan processor at T. J. Betis in Los Angeles, California.
This is where she met and married her husband, Ralph F. Thompson, in1960, and mothered two children, Mark Thompson and Candace Keeling. They remained happily married until 1966 when they divorced, but remained close and remarried 5 years later in 1971, and remained married until Ralph F. Thompson died of his third heart attack in 1973.
After her husband’s passing, Lee remained focused on her career and familial duties to provide for and love her family as best as she knew how. She was an avid friend to the church where she enthusiastically attended every Sunday to fulfill her passions and faith in God.
Lee Thompson is survived by her wealth in the love her family will always have for her, and the teachings she imparted on the moral fiber we require to live earnestly and in great quality under the wings of the guardian angels she always spoke of. Now amongst their ranks we are protected by a life benchmarking a standard of contributions to the community, devotion to family, and faith in a power beyond our own.
