Mr. Luigi Collerone, formerly of East Boston, passed away peacefully surrounded by his three daughters at his home in Malden on April 25th at the age of 84.

Luigi was born in Barrafranca, Sicily, Italy, the devoted son of the late Salvatore and Mariastella (Bonura) Collerone. He came to the United States in 1966 to be with his family in East Boston. He was known for his suits, love of food and his luck at the horse track. The youngest of 9 children, Luigi worked in the clothing industry and was with Forecaster Clothing and Brooks Brothers before his retirement. He was an active man who enjoyed time with his loving family and friends. He hunted and loved to cook. He was a great dancer and especially looked forward to holidays and time with his family.


Luigi was the beloved father of Gina and Maria Collerone, Sabrina Jannuzzi and her husband Steven. He was a loving grandfather of Brian Michael Cameron, Kayla Marie Cameron, Ariela Carolyn Esmurria, Isabella Catena Jannuzzi. He was a dear brother to Mariannina Razza, Gaetano Collerone the late Maddalena Bonura and Santa Avola.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, April 29th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home, Thursday 4 - 8 PM.
