Emily M. (MaDan) Beals, 80 years of Brockton passed away peacefully on Sunday April 24, 2016 at her home under the care of her daughter Ann Marie and surrounded by her loved ones after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard H. Beals for 53 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late Emery and Stella (Kozuch) MaDan, Emily lived in Brockton for most of her life.
Emily was a 1953 graduate of Brockton High School and also attended Bentley College. She worked in the trucking industry as an accounts receivable clerk/bookkeeping supervisor. She had worked at Quinn Freight, Maislin and Gateway Transportation and retired in 2006 from Boco Trans.
Emily enjoyed vacationing with family in New Hampshire and the mountains. She also loved singing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, David R. Beals and his companion Carol of Holbrook; John E. Beals of Brockton husband of the late Marcia; Kathleen M. Harvey of Brockton and her companion Robert Collette; Ann M. Beals of Brockton and James M. Beals of Taunton; eight grandchildren Kristina, John Jr., Paul, Michael, Richard, Robert, James and Matthew and several great grandchildren; her siblings Emery R. MaDan of Brockton; Shirley M. Bibby of Brockton; Marjorie H. Leighton of Randolph; Donald T. MaDan of Brockton and Alfred K. MaDan of North Carolina and the late David MaDan. She leaves behind her brother in law William Beals of Easton and her sister in law Rita Mara of Centerville. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday from 10:15 am to 11:15am followed by a Graveside Service in Melrose Cemetery at 11:30am.
