David P. Smith age 73 of Canton passed away April 22nd at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, he was raised in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School, Northeastern University, University of Stockholm in Sweden and received his MBA from the University of Michigan. David enjoyed a long career in the Travel Industry working in Sales and Marketing for TWA, Pan American Airlines and went on to work for Heritage Travel, Thomas Cook Travel/American Express Travel and Garber Travel. He later worked for El Al Israel Airlines in Boston and Washington DC before retiring in 2009. He was a member of the SKAL Club in Boston and Hong Kong since 1979 and was a former member of the Watershed Watchdogs in Canton. David loved to travel, was an avid Boston Sports Fan and enjoyed taking walks in the Blue Hills. Beloved husband of Donna L. (Ekberg). Father of Adam Smith of Brooklyn, NY and Leah Smith Valmoro and her husband Adam of San Francisco, CA. Brother of Evelyn Smith DeMille of Arlington, Gerard Smith of WA, Richard Smith and his wife Debbie of CA and the late Robert and Barbara Smith. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Saturday morning at 10:30.
