Louis J. Scutellaro

Louis J. Scutellaro passed away peacefully at the Lahey Clinic. He was 92. Born and raised in Boston, He was the son of the late James and Helen Scutellaro. Louis served in the Army during World War II. He participated in the liberation of the Philippines, participated in the China Offensive, the Battles of Borneo and Luzon and the Occupational Force of Japan. His decorations include: The Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Soldiers Medal. A graduate of Suffolk University and Salem State College, Louis worked as an engineer throughout his life. He was most proud of his work on the development of the AWACS system at Hanscom Air Base. A member of the Knights of Columbus in Burlington, where he and his family lived for many years, Louis was a loving and devoted husband and father who listened well and gave good counsel.


The beloved husband of the late Mildred J. “Millie” (DeBlasio) Scutellaro who passed away in 2014. He was a devoted father of James Scutellaro of Billerica and Cathy Paolillo and her husband Joseph of Wakefield. He was a dear brother of Joseph Scutellaro of Saugus, Marilyn Carbone of Wakefield, James Scutellaro of Winthrop and the late Guy Scutell, Adeline Zanti and Marie Speranza.

Relatives and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday, April 28th from 5 thru 8 PM with a family tribute service at 6 PM Services will conclude with military honors at 8 PM.
