Frances J. (Garvin) Hamilton, of Needham, died peacefully on April 17, 2016, one month and six days after her 100th birthday.
Born, raised and educated in Natick, Fran continued her education at Boston University. She was employed for many years in the Intelligence and Appellate Divisions of the Internal Revenue Service and later worked as an administrative assistant at an accounting office.
Fran was devoted to her family and friends and was a longtime parishioner of Saint Linus Church. She moved to North Hill in Needham in 1999.
Daughter of the late Clement E. and Anna Theresa (Harney) Garvin and sister of the late Ann Hartig, she was the aunt of Frank Hartig, husband of the late Kathleen, of Norwood, Patricia Hartig of Westford, and Jane Houle and her husband David of Glastonbury, CT. Fran is also survived by 6 grandnieces and nephews, and 6 great-grandnieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street, Natick, on Friday, April 29th at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery.
