Christopher M. O’Reilly, 50, of Woonsocket passed away at home on Wednesday April 20, 2016. Christopher was affectionately known as “Critter” to family and friends alike.
Born in Norwood, MA on December 25, 1965 he was a son of Harold O’Reilly of FL and the late Dolores (Butt) O'Reilly. He was raised in Franklin and was a graduate of Franklin High School. Through the years lived in Blackstone, Uxbridge and Milford before coming to Woonsocket several years ago.
A mechanic by trade Critter worked at a number of area firms including Ryder Corp., Natick Radiator, Auto Parts International, Jay’s Salvage Yard in Uxbridge and Cybex Corp in Franklin before retiring due to illness.
Critter loved his family and that included his dog. He was an avid fisherman and music lover including the Grateful Dead. An adventurous spirit Critter loved flying around on dirt bikes and snowmobiles.
In addition to his father he is survived by his step-mother Maureen O'Reilly both of FL, his children Sean Maher and Ashton O’Reilly both of Maine, Samantha Cruz and her husband, Hector, of Woonsocket, Dereck Dobachesky of Medway, Ryan Maher of Franklin and Katrina Hannan of Milford. Three grandchildren Julian and Preston Cruz and Allison Belmont. His sister Kathleen Whipple and her husband, Larry, of South Attleboro and his nephew Ryan Turcotte. He was the former husband and friend of Caroline Maher.
Visiting hours for Critter will be Friday April 22 from 5-9 pm in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket with a prayer service to be conducted during visiting hours. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family.
