WEST SPRINGFIELD – Paul A. Brosseau, 86, of Landmark at Monastery Heights in West Springfield and a former longtime resident of Enfield, Connecticut, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. He passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at West Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on October 28, 1929, a beloved son of the late Alphonse L. and Lea Marie Ange (Lesieur) Brosseau. He was raised in Springfield, graduated from Assumption Preparatory High School in Worcester and lived in Springfield for many years before moving to Enfield, Connecticut. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and attained the rank of Corporal. He previously worked at the former F.W. Sickles Company in Chicopee and last worked as an Electronics Technician at Western New England College in Springfield. He was a communicant of the former Saint Joseph Church in Springfield where he was a Senior Funeral Altar Server. He was later a communicant of Saint Martha Church in Enfield, Connecticut. Paul served from 1954 to 1984 and retired as a Lieutenant for the Shaker Pines Fire Department in Enfield, Connecticut. Proud of his Franco-American Heritage, he was a member and secretary of Le Club Richelieu in Springfield. He was also a member of the Franco-American Clubs in Springfield, Holyoke and Chicopee. He leaves his dear aunt, Yvette V. Dupuis of South Hadley; and his dear 101 year old cousin, Lucille Brosseau of Agawam. In addition, Paul leaves his many dear cousins, friends and extended members of the Brosseau and Lesieur families. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial with United States Army Military Honors will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
