Ceil M. (Maffie) Pappa of Medford died on Sunday, April 17 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House of Danvers. Born and raised in Boston's North End, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alfonsina (Marino) Maffie.

Ceil was the devoted mother of Bart Pappa of Alton, NH, Beverly A. Gobiel and her husband David, and Thomas A. Pappa Jr. and his wife Maureen, all of Medford. She was the loving grandmother of Joseph Pappa and his wife Tammy, Gina Pappa, and their mother Joyce, Krysten Merlina and her husband Michael, David Gobiel Jr. and his wife Vanessa, Thomas A. Pappa III and his wife Alyssa, and Matthew Pappa. Ceil was the loving great grandmother of Alyssa and Luciano Pappa, and sister of Anthony Maffie of Medford and his late wife Angela, Barbara Zollo and her husband John of Revere, the late Lena Mercurio and her late husband Joseph. She was the sister-in-law of Anthony Papa and his late wife Lucy, the late Lena and Robert Adams, the late Mary and Alfred Colella, the late Bartholomew "Junior" Papa and his surviving wife Annette. Ceil is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, April 21, at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, April 20, from 4 through 8 PM. Interment will be private.
