Paula W. (Stevens) Erickson, age 73, of Brockton, died April 15, 2016 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital. She was the devoted wife for 45 years of the late James A. Erickson. Paula was born in Pawtucket, RI, daughter of the late Paul R. and Mary (Willard) Stevens. Raised in Hartford, VT and Brockton, MA, she was a graduate of Brockton High School. Paula received her Bachelor’s Degree from Bridgewater State College and her Master’s Degree in Psychology from Boston College. For many years she was a psychologist at North East Health Services in Brockton, retiring in 2015. She remained passionate about her work that touched so many lives through the years. She was an avid gardener who also enjoyed sewing and exercise. However, her happiest moments were spending time with her family.
Paula was the loving mother of Peter Thorburn of Taunton, Douglas Thorburn and his wife Darcie of Hinesburg, VT; Mark Thorburn and his wife Julie of Snellville, GA, Roland Thorburn of Stoughton and Jennifer Erickson and her husband Erik Arthur of Natick. She leaves 8 grandchildren Brittany, Trevor, Kylie, Connor, Cameron, Grace and Evan Thorburn, Keira Arthur and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123) Brockton on Wednesday 5-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11am and will be followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery.
