Robert Sullivan passed away on April 16, 2016. He was 88 years old.
Robert was a lifelong resident of Malden. He was a United States Navy Veteran during WWII and a prospector in 1949 in Alaska and the Northwest Territory in Canada. Robert retired from General Electric Company where he worked for many years as a welder. He was a member of the Irish American club and treasurer of the Linwood Seniors of Malden.
Robert was the devoted husband of 53 years to Lucille (Tanguay) Sullivan. He was the beloved father of Robert D. Sullivan of NY, Laurette Burgess and her husband Scott of North Reading, James P. Sullivan of CA, and John T. Sullivan and his wife Sherri of Woburn. Robert was the dear brother of Dorothy Beote, Ruth Murphy and the late Mary Ballard, Bernice Merrill, and Mildred, John, James, William, Francis and Philip Sullivan. He was the cherished grandfather of Christopher and Mary Catherine Sullivan and Johnathan and Eleanor Burgess. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday April 20th at 10:30a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday April 19th from 4-8p.m.
Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
