Gilford-----Irene Grant, 91, of 36 October Lane, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Laconia Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Laconia.
Irene was born on October 25, 1924 in Torrington CT the daughter of Francis and Victoria (Tuholski) Komosienski. She had lived in Bridgewater, MA and Salem NH before moving to the Lakes Region after her retirement twenty nine years ago. Irene was a bridal consultant in Lawrence, MA and worked for the Lawrence General Hospital.
Irene was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Laconia. She was a member of the Laconia Friendship Club and a volunteer at the LRGH gift shop.
Survivors include two daughters; June Grant and her husband, Roger Clough, of Madbury and Marcia Dionne and her husband, Gary, of Laconia; five grandchildren, Alexis Dionne Campbell, Bethany Dionne Allen, Christian S. Dionne, Grant T. Clough and Catherine A. Clough; three great grandchildren, Amelia Grant Campbell, Clara Frances Campbell and Scarlet Claire Allen and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her husband John Grant Jr. in 2002 her sister, Cecelia Cunneen and by her brother Francis Komosienski.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 10:00am - 11:00am at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia NH using the Carriage House Entrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:30am at St. Andre Bessette Parish-St. Joseph Church,30 Church Street, Laconia NH.
Burial will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 1:30pm in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Gilford Public Library, 31 Potter Hill Road, Gilford, NH 03249 to be used towards large print books. Preferably please take someone you love out to lunch or for a round of golf in Irene's memory.
