Obituary

Karl Emmanuel Kurtz, of Simi Valley passed away on April 11, 2016 after a long illness.

Born in Santa Monica he was a graduate of SAMO High School in 1960 and attended Arizona State University. Mr. Kurtz has lived in Simi Valley for the past 46 years.

Karl worked as a facilities engineer for Litton Guidance and Control working on U.S. Government defense contracts.
He was a huge volunteer, a part of the CB Emergency Radio Team, he volunteered heavily for the Red Cross and March of Dimes. Mr Kurtz did all the communications detail for the Simi Valley days parade for years. He also volunteered as an assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 2 in Santa Monica. Mr. Kurtz was know for his generosity and would you give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

He is the proud father of his two sons, Mike (Anita) Kurtz of Simi Valley and Greg (Leanna) Kurtz of Ramona; he was "Grandpa Hershey" to his 4 grandchildren Chelsea, Jenna, Ashley and Dustin.
He was preceded in death by his sister the late Dolores Bell.
